Are they scum or just trying to make a living?

They are scum. To an extent, the celebrities bring it on themselves, but Princess Diana didn't and they are responsible for her death.
I love reading stories about celebrities getting fed up and beating the crap out of those worthless little cowards.

I am so tired of reading about certain celebs that I could hurl. I think it's a pity that I know Paris Hilton's show size but I don't know what's really going on in Iraq. The media is all out of kilter and it's priorities are all screwed up. I wish the paparazzi would all go to Iraq and then report the truth.

They are scum that are trying to make a living. When people get hurt because the paparazzi is trying to get their shot, then it becomes dangerous. They need to know where and when to draw the line.

Paparazzi are the media's hunting dogs sent to flush out celebrities and gain proof via photo of what game they have managed to capture that day. They are trying to make a living, but sometimes it costs the celebrities and others a lot.

Trapped. Think about how it would feel to have your every move, your every minute action, put into print for all the world to see. They (the really big celebrities of today) can't get a haircut or go to the grocery store without it being the tabloids and magazines. Can't imagine the pressure some of them must feel....it would drive me into paranoia within a year! 0_o

If we didn't look at their photos, they would be out of a job.
Every time someone buys a celeb magazine, or turns on those sensationalist television magazine shows, we sign another check to the paparazzi.

They're just providing the products and services obviously demanded by the viewing public.
If there were no market for these "candid" photographs - there'd be no paparazzi.

I think people who support the paparazzi are the cretins. Still, I think it'd be pretty boring to camp outside Paris Hilton's home waiting for her to be released from jail -- about as stimulating as capturing images of the moron in the White House.
