The eephus is a very slow pitch with a lot of arc. Don't mistake this for a hook, which is a curve that has a lot of arc, but is thrown like a curve. The eephus is basically just lobbed in there. El-duque and casey fossum are the only pitchers I know who throw the eephus.

It's a pitch where the arm motion looks like your average fast ball, but it pops out of the hand and comes toward the plate in a looping arc. Most batters aren't ready for it, but it looks so tempting they swing, and usually miss if it's thrown right.

its nothing special like these guys are trying to make it out as. its a gimic pitch that no ones throws at al...its basically a lobbed ball towards home. and if you can't hit it then you don't belong in the majors.
and if its thrown in games today its strictly by mistake.

its bascially a super super super super slow curveball with a huge break...it looks liek the ball is rly high and then its drops down into the strike zone.

it's nasty. the pitcher from the giants threw one yesterday. it went about 59mph and then broke. it was on of those espn highlights
