A hickey is like a bruise, it's going to take time to fade away. I would try to rub the skin (not too hard), that usually works for me when I bump myself and I don't want to get a bruise.
A hickey is a right of passage, loads of young people get and give them, it's like a badge of honor. Hopefully you & your partner will give up doing that to each other because they are trashy looking, especially on older people.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
Now you know what people mean when they say that. The old fashioned cure is time, which happens to be free. If you can find a Nikken magnet dealer near you, or online, buy a credit card sized magnet and hold it on the hickey for a day or two (they have glue for it, but a scarf works better.) They'll cost you about $40. For $50 you can get a slightly less effective treatment magnet by TheraP, from Walgreens. Yes, these medical magnets do work. I've been using them for pain for 15 years. They seem even better at fresh bruises (that's what a hickey is -broken blood vessels.)

blood has been forced to the surface of the skin. I've been told ice applied directly to spot for perhaps 5 min or less should lessen the redness. as far as make-up, try Dermablend sold at Foley's department stores retails for $27.00.

Wear a scarf or a choker necklace. It worked on Who's the Boss, until she took it off.

No way. They will fade in a few days. Next time, be more careful.

I was told that if you use the smooth side of a comb and rub it it will go away.

I think you'll have to wait until that disappears, just try covering up with your hair or clothing.
