I adore the Victorian Era's architecture and clothing! The clothes were beautiful and the buildings were spectacular!

On the other hand, I love the styles of clothing with the Wild West during the same years! I really love the Bonanza style.

I also love the 1930s. The clothes were amazing, and again I love the houses!

I really love the 1500s castle style as well. For anyone that has played Nancy Drew and the Curse of Blackmoor Manor, I would kill for a house like that!

I don't think I could pick one favorite because different eras offer different advantages.

I absolutely love the renaissance style clothing. The fabric is fabulous and intricately detailed. I participate in our local renaissance fair each year just so that I can browse their costume closet and wear something unbelievable. I'm not sure I'd like wearing that stuff every day though, it tends to be hot and rather constricting.

I also like the 1920's clothing. Very stylish and ahead of its time, the fit set precedent in fashion flair and class.

Of course I enjoy the 60's hippie style. How fun and free! I'd love to be so casual in everyday life. However, I don't think I'd be taken too seriously at work if I was barefoot in hemp clothing with flowers in my hair...

Lastly, and maybe quite humorously, the outrageous and over-the-top glam of the 80's is also one of my favorites. The big hair, the three inches of makeup (including four coats of mascara and extra eye-liner), neon colors, raggedy, tie-died, acid-washed, net, "costume" jewelry (I don't know what else to call it) and don't forget spandex! Oh the joy of spandex! (lol) Now, it's very little make-up, toned down hair, absolutely no neon... and the only time I'd be caught dead in anything spandex is if we are riding ATVs in the sand dunes... and that is simply to keep the sand out of places you didn't know you had!

Fun question...

Oh, yes, I think old-fashioned is "cool". But then, I am old-fashioned. I grew up with wood heating stoves, cook stoves, out-door toilets, water came from a pump or spring. When it froze outdoors, it froze inside. I have never lived in a building with air conditioning.
I prefer the late '50's to mid-'60's. No one locked doors; people were safe, no one took things out of your house or your yard. You could drive across Montana and not see another car for hours (any western state, even California!)
The life style was not so hurried, harried, etc. as now. People would sit on their front porches and relax. We worked so hard; when I graduated from high school, I was stoop-shouldered, my hands so calloused.
There were rude people, but they were the exception.
Most of the time, clothing was more casual; but so many jobs, and of course church, required men to wear a suit and tie.

1940's all the way. The music was the best (swing!), men and women dressed well, and wars were fought against real enemies for real good vs. evil reasons. Politicians were more honest and people read books. Life was simpler, richer, better. If I could have been a young adult in any generation, I'd pick that one.

Which means I'd be dead by now, but when I look at the world around us, I don't think that'd be so bad.

What do you mean by old-fashioned style"? You could be talking about the 1980s, or the 880s, or even the 880s BCE.

Personally I have a preference for 12th century saxon, 14th century north-wester European (the armor is really nice) and am delving into 15th century Dubrovnik (Republic of Ragusa) for clothing, food, crafts and combat styles.

I love the retro 80's clothes style that just seemed to drop of the face of the planet. I wish I could find those clothes, I would wear them all the time. Of course the music was great too.

I think the 50's through the 70's for clothing style was really cool and drive-in-movies, hitch hiking without worrying about being attacked, Woodstock, everyone watched out for your kids, block parties, cheap gas prices and I could go on and on.
