natural family planning is not the Catholic rythym method but an alternative to hormones, the patch, IUD, condoms, etc.
As we know, the pill can cause mood swings, weight gain, break through bleeding/ovulation, pregnancy, blood clots, PE, & serious drug interactions.

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is safe, won't interact with any medications, it's easy to learn, inexpensive, it can be used to avoid/achieve a pregnancy, and can be use by women who have serious illnesses or irregular cycles.

My husband & I have used NFP for 10 yrs. to avoid a pregnancy due to serious health problems I have. We learned about it via a local hospital & were taught how to manage our fertility through a certified NFP instructor.

you have so much to gain from learning NFP and nothing to lose. can the same be said about the pill or other hormone contraceptives ?? is it really worth risking your life??

Everyone reacts to different pills differently. It is really trial and error but give it three months before switching. I started out with whatever the Dr recommended. Personally triphasic pills(three levels of hormones) make me really crabby and moody so monophasics work best for me personally. After time sometimes they also might need to be changed(On one my period was starting earlier and earlier)

Different pills have different hormone levels. The lower the hormone levels, the lower your chances of having side effects.
