Trent Green is older, Beck is already 25. Why sign an expensive QB like Green, rather than have a backup start a few games, then put Beck in when he get more comfortable. Would this be cheaper and better in the long run? Marino started his rookie year after what, game 6 ? Why not put in Lemon, then Beck after 4-6 games, and use the cash on some other position ?

no play out Trent Green while he still has game. John Beck can learn a thing or two on the sideline and when Green is done Beck can come in. in my opinion we wouldnt have a problem if Miami just took Brady Quinn.

Yeah, I don't know what the hell the fish are doing as Green is going to get massacred behind that sorry O-Line. This isn't KC where he had a great line in front of him. They might as well take their lumps and throw Beck into the fire right now. I guess they figure Green can nurture Beck for a year or two and show him the ropes while he's getting his brains beat in (sorry, forgot about his concussion problems!). But why not do it now? They aren't going anywhere in the AFC anyway.

Some teams would like to win a super bowl in, the next two to three seasons. You won't do that with a Rookie. as I recall, Marino lost His too. Green gives Miami the possibility of winning now.

John Beck played in the weak Mountain West. He has a lot of work to do just to stay on the team.

I have no idea why they kept Lemon in the first place.Beck needs Green to learn him the ropes you know as a tutor.I hope something works out well for the Dolphins.
