While acrylic nails are fairly strong, you don't want them too thick, either. That makes them pretty obvious as unnatural.

i like them not as thick, they look more natural and when you get a fill in they will be a little bit thicker, but less than if they were already thick to being with.

most places wont leave them too thick & they arent heavy but you can ask i personally like to just to leave them like that unless they are really think & noticable
