I can drain the water by manually moving the drain tubing below the hole in the bottom of the washer. Anyone know how to fix this? This is a new problem, the washer was working fine yesterday

Check around the edges of the door or lid. There is usually a small "clip/latch" that makes the washer drain the water and then start to spin. If this "clip/latch" is broken than the washer will not drain the water, therefore it will not spin either, unless manually turned to spin cycle.
If this is the case call your washer's manufacturer. (Usually a 1-800 number listed on the washer itself, if not call information and they will direct your call.)
Ask the company how much the part costs ( probabley not much at all) and have them ship you one to replace the broken "clip/latch"

if the u don't hear the washer pump buzz when u turn on the washer switch, then the washer motor has failed. Sometimes tapping on the motor and tuning on the washers simultaneously will sometimes make it work momentarily. Your better off purchasing a new one if it's totally inop. Unless u can find a shop that has a couple of good used ones to test out that might save u some $$.

If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.

Sounds like the water pump or the motor broke. That happened to me the other day. You can fix it yourself but it involves you taking apart your entire washer and replacing the motor.

I would suggest that you call an appliance repairman and pay the $100 to have him fix it.

Good luck!

Try putting on some "parrot head" music on ;)
relax...sip a margarita and all is well..oh ummm sorry your name there got me off the subject here...lets see:

Until you can get a new one, ask a few appliance mechanics, just so your not stiffed when it comes time to pay. Then pick the cheaper one but make sure they're legit and until then just go to your local laundromat do it yourself or dry cleaners and you can or have it paid to be washed and dried and folded, I think they charge by lbs. good luck :) (call me crazy)

it may just be clogged up in the line of it,first make sure it is running when you turn it on ,and if it is ,then it probably has dirt in it causing this to happen,if not you,ll probably have to replace the pump motor on it good luck with it.

Blown fuse?
Plugged spray jets?
Bad switch?

Remove the whole assembly. It's easier that way.

you either have a loose wire or the pump is shot.
