Reasonable business look will be best...casual Fridays may not be for 5 days in a row, right? Skirt & blouse [no tank tops or see-thru stuff]. J-o-b means w-o-r-k, so look serious rather than fluffy. Internal affairs means what, a police dept.? Gee...some of the cases handled by IA will involve allegations against cops taking a, erm, goodie sample from something fluffy, so don't look like a target for the IA investigators themselves! You also have to present yourself as someone who knows how to be tactful, discreet, not given to dish...so don't regale your interviewer with tidbits from your exciting lifestyle [or anyone else's, either!]. If you're a cop yourself and being considered for an IA investigator's gig, be serious about the responsibility, respect your interviewer, and don't make jokes about how drunk your sergeant gets after his shift. Investigating allegations against cops can be a heartbreaking gig sometimes, so go in there with a sense of respect...and personal dignity.
