No, not unless you are a certified nurseryman or affiliated with a large supplier. The state regulates the sale of plants under the Ag. dept. You are better off starting a community or neighborhood "exhange." Check also with any native plant orgs. in your area and the local extension center for your county....

It could be, if you have a LOT of money to invest, and plan to work very long hours!
I worked at a small neighborhood greenhouse for several years. The costs of buying seed, cuttings, soil, flats, trays, insecticide, fungicide...not to mention heating the greenhouses and providing water and electricity...is prohibitive. Greenhouses themselves aren't cheap either. It's hard work, can be discouraging too, when you have a crop failure or die-off, or even if business is poor.
You'd have to REALLY love plants and working with them to justify it...and it requires a GREAT deal of knowledge. You probably won't make a decent living at it, unless you have a big place with a huge selection of plants. My former employer did it more or less as a hobby!
I don't mean to discourage you, but it's a lot harder and more costly than one might think.

Most of it depends on how much time you are willing to spend doing it and not pay yourself for your time. Only reimburse yourself in the beginning for supplies. It also depends on what is available in your area, Those things are usually sold at a farmers market or roadside stand.

well, every big company started big....will you make good money? hard to say. will it be a full-time job trying to make good money? absolutely. do your research, get as much help as you can, ie from the Small Business Association, make sure you know what you're getting into, and then go for it!

If you really save up and work for it, ya you could. You might need some help, so put flyers all around town asking people for help, or ask some friends to help. But remember really save up, cause for one thing, if people really want to help you, they need some payment.Second, you need some money yourself.Good Luck with it!:D
