You are only fertile 2 days a month. Usually it's 7 days after your period stops. You get the the funny creamy discharge that looks like egg whites and is a little slimey, that's when you ovulate and when you are ready to get pregnant. You should avoid having sex that week. Wait at least 3 days after the slimey egg whites go away to have sex. I have three kids and am pretty good at knowing when I'm fertile.

even if a guy fully ejaculates inside you on the day that you ovulate, you only have AT MOST a 1 in 3 chance of getting pregnant. the further you are away from the day of ovulation, the less chance you have.

OMG! I used to think if someone ejaculated in you you would definitely be pregnant. That's what they try to teach you in sex ed, but it's a lie. Some people try for years to have a baby and don't succeed. Believe it or not you can only concieve a baby two days a month when you're ovulating. She must have chosen one of the other 29 days that month to have unprotected sex. I had unprotected sex, with my husband ejaculating in me, for 4 long years before I got pregnant.

The pregnancy rate for a year using absolutely no protection is only 80%. It's not an absolute guarantee that one will get pregnant just by having unprotected sex.

Conception is not something that you can predict like the interest in your bank account. Sometimes it happens when it seems unlikely, sometimes it doesn't happen when all the conditions are right. It's like the weather. Some days it rains, some days it doesn't, but it's impossible to say for sure in advance exactly when it's going to rain.
** GR, your post made me laugh so hard I thought I was going to go into labor. Which would be welcome at this point.

You don't always get pregnant every time you have unprotected sex. However, you TAKE THE CHANCE of becoming pregnant every time you have sex (protection/birth control can fail). If she is not ready to have a baby, your friend should use a condom during sex; this will protect against pregnancy and also protect against STD's.

It all depends on the time that it happened, you have to have an egg released for implantation to happen. It was luck that she did not get pregnant. I wouldn't recommend your friend ever doing that again, next time she might not be as lucky.

The sperm didnt meet the egg. Maybe it's by chance that she didnt get pregnant, but this will not happen everytime.
