Jml,
Here's a question: Do you think that lost of wrinkles on your face would be sexy?
That's what will happen if you try so hard to tan pale skin...80% of wrinkles come from sun exposure.
If you are pale...you are pale...that has nothing to do with your beauty factor.
I have 2 friends who are Irish...and very pale and there are LOADS of men falling backwards to get their attention...and they DO NOT TAN.
Sun block will not help agains cancer if you fry your skin for 6 hours per day.

I'm really pale and I have freckles - I just can't tan and I'm fine with that. I don't think pale is ugly, it can actually be considered just as attractive as being tan. But that's a matter of opinion.
If you're uncomfortable with being pale, sunless tanning is the best way to go. I've always been against sitting in the sun for hours, because it causes early wrinkling and sometimes skin cancer. But then again, some people aren't the tanning type so it wouldn't help even to sit in the sun. Try sunless tanning.
So no, pale isn't ugly IMO. :)

Pale is awesome. Being burned pink, isn't. I burn super easily. The only way that any sort of tan forms is if I am exposed to filtered sun (like in a forest) almost constantly, for a few weeks and I neglect putting on much sun screen. But even so, pretty much only my arms tan. I think being pale is cooler than cool. And, I take pride in getting through the summer without burning my skin. Tan for someone who doesn't tan easily, probably means serious skin damage. WEAR SUNCREEN!

I don't like to see naturally pale people tanned, I think all skin colours are beautiful. I have pale skin and it's the one thing about myself that I would never change.
Obviously if you don't feel comfortable it's your choice and shouldn't depend on anyone else's opinion. Maybe you could try a wash off spray tan thing first to see how you feel and whether it suits you?

My mom has red hair, lots of freckles, and is pale while my dad is tan and has dark brown hair. My brother has rich, brown hair and his skin tans so easily but I have some freckles, strawberry blonde hair, and moderately pale skin. In the summer I can get "tan", probably a tan persons winter color 😂 when I was in middle school I hated it and I would lay out in the sun until I burnt because that was the only way I could get a decent "tan". I put myself through horrible sun burns and skin damage. Trust me it is not worth it! Except yourself for who you are! Or you can try self tanners or get a professional spray tan 😂

Look at Nicole Kidman. She a beauty! Plus, people who are tan now will have a lot of wrinkles and skin cancer when they get older. You can be beautiful now w/ your pale skin, and still be beautiful when you are 60 but staying out of excessive sun

Pale doesn't mean your ugly. If you feel that way though go for spray tanning. Being pale raises your risk of skin cancer even if you do use sunscreen which will prevents ultimate tanning.

If you wear sunblcok and lay in the sun you won't get a tan, that's relaly the whole point of sunBLOCK. what i suggest you get is sunTAN lotion and lay there a few minutes a day and get "A touch of sun" by OLAY cause in just one week your skin is shades tanner. It's wonderful, I use it and love it.
I'm pretty pale myself so i feel your pain! LOL.
<3 good luck

No. I don't think pale people are ugly.
If you can't get a tan on your own...which isn't good for you anyway...causes premature aging and skin cancer...buy yourself a tan. It comes in a tube at Target, and it will give you the color you desire without the health risks.

It used to be completely reversed back in the day... white foundation & really rich women almost never went out in the sun.
Skin cancer is not a fun thing. Especially if you're pale, you should be wearing at least SPF 5 or something.
it's just a cultural aesthetic that has no basis in real attraction. I personally find both pale & tanned skinned people can be hot.
Work more on your comfort & acceptance of yourself than trying to please others by giving yourself melanoma.
Most models get airbrushed. Give that a try before killing yourself (& adding to wrinkles in later life!)
