Maybe it's because minorities CHOOSE not to go? Or are you insinuating the Red Sox dont sell tickets to minorities?

I think there are a couple different reasons why most people who watch games at Fenway are white. First of all, New England is a predominately white area of the United States. Massachusetts made up of 89% white people, and in the surrounding states, that percentage is even more. The other reason has to do with money. Because Fenway park is an older stadium and does not have as many seats compared to other ballparks, it is rare to pay for tickets at face value unless you get really lucky. I myself have had to pay almost $100 for bleacher seats that had a face value of $20. Unfortunately, a lot of minorities may not be able to afford tickets to games since they cost an arm and a leg.

having lived there for 8 years and once being a season ticket holder; your right
but you have to rember the past history of not just the red sox but the whole town as well.
black players for the celtics getting pulled over in Newton (they lived there), just because of their skin color;
lets not forget the famous bridge incident, where they blamed a black man for a shooting, and they (police) went door to door looking for the assailant.
even Bill Russell took his fair share of moments;
the list goes on and on; why would minorities go to fenway, they never enticed them to show up like other ball parks
but with Pedro, he had some backing; he was one of the few that i can recall

great question. i think its because its become a fad. since the red sox won the world series in 04 everyone has wanted to become a member of red sox nation.even people who dont like baseball. like ben aflec and jennifer garner who are red sox fans. people see those people and are like i wanna be like them. not many minorities care about either of those two actors. its just because white people want to be like the other white guy next to him who happens to like the red sox and they buy all their tickets.

for one thing, the Red Sox play in Boston, which can be called a "rich man's place". (and im NOT trying to be rude here) but it can be too expensive for some people to afford to go to a game (im white and even i cant afford to go to a game)

Which minorities do you want to see? Do you want them to stand out really well, or are slightly brown and pinkish brown okay?
OTOH, perhaps this just follows the trend reported in various national magazines of loss of interest and declining participation and attendance in baseball by the people for whom Jackie Robinson broke the barrier.

a lot of it has to do with the part of the country. percentage wise, there are simply not near as many minorities living in new england compared to other parts of the country. another part has to do with the lack of african americans that are interested in the game.

So what's your point? You need to spend more time watching the game and less time analyzing peoples skin colors.
