if you were to see a movie on a first date, would it be better to see a comedy that you can both laugh at, or a scary movie that'll make the girl [me in this case] freakout & grab onto the guy

I'm not a fan of horror films. I'd prefer comedy but not lame. Robin William's type stuff Action movies with comic relief like Oceans 11, 12, 13, Bruce Willis type movies work as do the Pirate movies..

Comedy...1st date is about getting a feel (no pun intended) for the other person so you dont want to do something like the scary movie thing. Besides hearing the other person laugh and finding out their brand of humor is a great way to get to know someone.

I dont think a movie is the best option for a first date. You should do something where you can interact with each other and get to know them. In a movie you are just sitting there next to each other and thats it.

My first date with my wife was a musical movie called West Side Story. She got to drive my Corvette home after the movie cause I was wearing contacts and had to take them out and I couldn't see to drive home. That made her day. That was 44 years ago.

Since this is a first date..meaning you are trying to get know each other.....I would go with comedy, find out if he even has a sense of humor.
