Depends on exactly what they say & how they say it. If they are respectful & offer reasonable arguments, I respond in kind. If the person is expressing bigotry or is otherwise obnoxious I will likely be less than polite in respons. Especially if he/she is an obvious bigot.

Mostly, I listen. People who think differently than I do often also know things that I don't or have different experiences that are interesting and worth hearing about. Most people cannot be convinced to change their political positions at any rate, so in political discussions, I take the opportunity to take in some food for thought.

depends on what they are saying... I mean at times people give reasons for their beliefs that really don't have anything to do with their beliefs... that annoys me and I could call them stupid... but I try to give a reason most of the time at least...

granted, probably not the most mature thing to do, and I try not to... but things happen...

I try to stick to politics and attacking their reasons for their beliefs more than attacking them...

unless their question is nothing more than an attack... then I just do whatever... but I don't put too much thought into it...

I state my opinion in as nice a manner as possible. I try to use links when applicable.
I think the attacks are petty and childish for the most part. Once in a great while, a snarky answer is warranted.

You don't "attack" them unless you're in an actual debate setting. You express your disagreement with their politics in a civil manner.

I try out a few logic fallacies... begging the question, straw man, post hoc ergo propter hoc, etc. Usually I get hit back with the attack the questioner fallacy.

I try to explain my point of view and I try to show them what is wrong with their point of view. To me, insulting someone is of little value. Making them reconsider is far more challenging. If I cause them to go back and question their sources and verify if their facts are correct. That is a victory for the truth.

I don't attack them at all!! I respect everyones opinons. I don't even attack them when I am being attacked by them.. I simply educate them on my beliefs and allow them to recognize the ignorance of their actions.

I only attack when provoked.

However I have perfected the fine art of eye-rolling.

I honestly try to be nice, but sometimes that isn't easy. Stupid questions drive me nuts!!!!!! But other than those, I try to answer them in an open and hopefully intelligent fashion.

I'm used to personal attacks and they truly don't trouble me.
