Same result... Lakers only got past the Spurs when they had BOTH Kobe and Shaq, from 2000-2002. Spurs have been the superior team since then. Last year's Spur's with Duncan injured were upset by the Mavs, not Kobe.
Lakers record over the past 3 years is worse than the Clippers!
Kobe is an amazing player, but can't do it by himself- he would have won one extra game for them is all... Series 4-1

Kobe wouldn't have done any better than Lebron, trust me. Lebron averaged 22 points on 36% shooting and almost 6 turnovers while the Cavs were swept by the Spurs. Kobe against the Pistons in 2004 averaged 23 points on 38% shooting, almost 4 turnovers and the Lakers lost in 5. The Spurs were just as good defensively in the 2007 NBA Finals if not better than the Pistons were in 2004.
There is one major difference between the two performances though; Lebron actually looked to pass often and averaged 6 assist playing with no other all-star teammate. Kobe on the other hand had Shaq and averaged only 3 assists.
As for the ignorant comment from "I <3 HeR!!". "The Lakers beat the Spurs 2 out of 3 games. So I would assume that Cavs with Kobe's help would've dominated the spurs." Well the Cavs had a better record against the Spurs (2-0) in the regular season and look what happened.

I think that the Cavs wouldnt have gotten swept. Kobe would have been much more consistent than Lebron. It seemed as though Lebron was nervouse and never found his shot. Kobe is used to the big stage and I think that he would be a better matchup against the Spurs. Lebron is a player that is best taking it to the hole and finishing. However, the Spurs have one of the best interior defenses in the league. A guy like Kobe could take it to the hole if the lane is there, but he can also hit the J with consistensy. Kobe would have been a mutch better matchup against the Spurs, as he has a mutch better jumper and much more experience.

Spurs would have still won the series, but Kobe would have at least gotten them one game. Kobe is used to being guarded by two or more players so the Spurs wouldn't be doing anything that he hasn't seen before.

It wouldn't have mattered. LeBron was double and tiple teamed the entire series. He has the best combination of size, speed, and strength in the NBA, and even he couldn't get it done. I am a Cavs fan, and I don't dislike Kobe, but there would be no difference. Maybe they could have won one game, but that would rely solely on Kobe's jumper. Other than that, Kobe would have no impact.

Instead of a 4-0 sweep with 4 close losses by Cleveland it would be 4 blowouts by Spurs. The only ome taking shots for Cleveland would be ballhog.
This is pure fantasy though, because if ballhog was with Cleveland they would have lost in the 1st round anyway.

Same result! Everyone seems to forget that basketball is a team game-not one on one! He would have scored 35-40 points a game and they would have still lost. What if Tim Duncan replaced James what would happen?
10 years in the league-10 years All Pro-10 years All defensive first team-4 NBA Titles-but he couldn't do it without his team and being very unselfish.Amare Stoudamre averaged 40 points a game against them 2 years ago -they lost and they had Steve Nash(the league MVP)-it is a team game!

let's see... Kobe (ball hog) against the Spurs (TEAM) ... sorry, I have to say there would be same results: Spurs in 4!!! (difference being that Kobe would be competing against his own team member (s), King James et al.) Let's face it: Kobe does not fit in any NBA TEAM, he needs to form his own until he learns what most kindergarteners already know: YOU HAVE TO SHARE!!! Kobe, share the ball, won't you????
