You're heating hydrated copper (II) sulphate to form anhydrous ("no water") copper (II) sulphate.

CuSO4 . 5H2O --> CuSO4 + 5H2O

FYI, the colour changes from blue to white. Anhydrous copper (II) sulphate is white.

When you heat a hydrate, such as the one you have, the water is driven off. This is a physical and not a chemical change. So it is not really a reaction, just a dehydration

it's a physical change until it starts to lose it's water of hydration, which is a chemical change. you'll know when this happens by the loss of shiny blue color. some say that losing water is a physical change, but the water is attached to the molecule in definite proportions and does effect some properties of the compound.
