I will be moving in 2 weeks. I have a small cheapy vacuum that I have been using for my own vacuuming however when I leave I want to make sure everything is really up and clean. Is it possible to rent a Shopvac from somewhere? How much would this cost? I'm in Las Vegas if that helps.

Any equipment rental place will have them. Probable cost is $25-30. You can buy a small one at Lowes for $50.

Shouldn't cost you anywhere near $25-30 to rent one for a day. Probably more like $10 a day for a shop vac. Actually you probably don't need to use one if you have a regular household vacuum. The one you own with a new bag installed should pick up all the dust and debris you need to clean up the place. But if you want to suck up water then you'll need a wet/dry vac.

Some of these rental places have commercial quality wet/dry vacs that do cost a bit more to rent but try to just rent a consumer quality model which should be much cheaper.

Another option, and let your conscience be your guide, is to buy one, use it, then take it back.

Your larger grocery chains and home centers rent rug shampooers, is this what you are seeking? A shop vac won't do much better than your home vacuum, unless you need to pick up a high volume of stuff. The attachments for the shop vac aren't that good for fine removal, just sawdust, nails, water, gravel, sand. In LV, I guess you might have a lot of sand. Home centers sometimes have rentals on shop vacs too...

Just look around for a nice construction worker or contractor who would let you barrow one. You could use mine if I knew you.

I don't think you should do the buy and return thing. Not cool.
