Usually I pick, but if I am actually undecided then I put it to vote.

I usually pick my own. Some I couldn't find any good answers so I just leave it.
When I pick a best answer it's not always the answer I agree with, like with some religious questions, it's usually if their answer got their point across I pick them.
Or If someone has the most thumbs up I'll pick them,
or if there is so many answers that are similar I pick the first one of the similarities.
Thats how I do it.

Pick it myself. That way I get 3 points and I pick based on what kind of question it is. For instance, if it's a random question I go by whatever hits me as a good answer at the time and if it's an advice question I go by what is truly the best answer.

I always try to choose the best answer to my questions, because it's the polite thing to do!
Also, I recently learned that I could vote for my own answer to another's question, if put to a vote. Prior to that, it never crossed my mind to try! I have actually voted for my own answer on occasion, when I truly believed it was the best out of the bunch. Those points are nice, but not as important to me as sharing my opinions. ;)

After 4 hours have elapsed, you can chose your own best answer. After 3 days, the community votes on the best answer.
You decide by which answer YOU felt was the best. You choose the one that answered your question most thoroughly.
There is no right or wrong--just your personal choice.

I always select the best answer myself. If the question that I asked was seeking specific facts, whoever delivered those facts accurately first gets the 10 points. If the question I asked calls for opinion or advice, I give the ten points to whoever I felt actually read the whole question and tried to answer it with sincerity. In addition, you do get points for selecting a best answer so why not take them. Hope this helped! :)

I like to pick my own. That way I can read each one and pick best suited for the question I've asked. I think it's rude when people ask and can't take the time to thumb up or down and or even come back to answer what others have wrote.
Good or bad!
Just my opinion. Thanks ;-)

More to the point why do so few questions get best answer by the user. If you have a question wouldn't you want to pick the best answer rather than wait for the rest of us to do it for you?

I've only asked one question, but I got two responses that didn't help at all. I didn't bother to pick one, so it went to voting.
If I get a good response, though, I'll choose it. If I like a lot of responses, I'll let it go to voting.

I always pick a best answer. I want to let people know if my question was resolved or not. If it wasn't then I pick the question that was closest to the best answer and explain why I picked them.
