You really can't. First of all not all gay men act effeminate but there are a lot of straight guys who do. Other than asking the person you really don't know.

WTH? Metrosexuality is a television myth.
The only metrosexuals I know of are gay-for-pay. AND that's pretty gay in my book.
If you are secure enough with your sexuality, you should just come up and ask him. And if he is secure with his, he won't mind.

mm it can get confusing, the whole concept of metro actually annoys me just a little sometimes- but I have friends who are bi, straight, gay, les, and metro, so yeah.
maybe discreetly make a joke or something? nothing too personal, just see his facial reaction. or ask someone who knows him, if they're closer to you than him they'd probably laugh it off and give you an answer.
or if you were a little more bold, flirt kinda subtly, see what he does?

They won't talk with a silly lisp, and normally they wouldn't like really girly things. They won't act like your little personal stylist or anything. Some bisexual guys can be like that too, so it's kind of hard to tell sometimes. But sometimes you can just tell if he's not into chicks.
