I asked a question about the hypocrisy in illegal immigrants breaking the law to be here and why people who are for it say that it's DIFFERENT because they're doing it for a better life and so on. I got responses saying that maybe we have too many laws, or, ome laws need to be broken for the better of the country. Are you kidding me? This is the logic these people have, LOL. So if I believe the no smoking ban in public places is wrong that I should smoke there and break the law because I think it ought to be broken, lol. I love the logic in this forum. And the sad this is, some of these people will probably be in the senate in the future, lol.

I love your reasoning, it makes total sense. I do not understand the rationale of people who think amnesty should be given to illegals. Rules and laws are in place for a reason. If Mexicans came here legally, we wouldn't be in this mess right now. Mexicans are disrespected by American's because they do not respect the laws of the country. It has nothing to do with race. I wish people would wake up!

jamie, allow me to show the logic of the utility in breaking laws.

there are two justifications for being obliged to obey the law. one is that it's a promise you've made and the other is that the act is wrong.

promises don't carry much moral weight. if you promise to meet someone for lunch, but your mother just had a heart attack, you don't do the person wrong by saving your mother.

that brings us to the utility justification. the civil rights movement was based upon breaking the law. sometimes you do have to break the law for justice.

i'm not saying that illegal immigrants are breaking the law for the same reasons. you attacked the form of logic, not the things they did with it. i'm defending that form of logic, not the content.

Well, some laws are bad and need to be broken. If you grew up during the 60s when there was segregation, would you have cooperated with the government that was trying to enforce it just because it was the law? If you were alive in the 1800s when there was slavery, would you have cooperated with the police to catch runaway slaves just because the law said you had to?

I agree that some laws should be broken. I have to go now, I have some banks to rob.

By the way, how come the same people that carp about Bush breaking laws (and Scooter Libby, etc) have no problem with illegals breaking laws? That seems inconsistent.

I agree with you... and smiled as I was reading your examples. I sometimes think that we are sending soldiers over to other countries to help them form a democratic government. However, we dont take very good care of our own country. Why don't we clean up our own act and then focus on helping others. I think that laws need to be enforced.

It is scarey looking at todays youth. I am a teacher and the total disrespect for rules and laws is amazing. However it needs to be lead by example.. 1... Cell phones may not be hand held while driving... BUT you see cops driving all the time with the phone to their ear.....

The rampant lack of common sense and logical judgement doesnt give alot of promise for the future does it.

This sense of moral relativism is a sinking ship to society.
Perhaps since they dont believe in laws then I can go take their car.

I as soon as had a pal who became very just about me. Once once we have been sitting on the fringe of a swimming pool, she stuffed the palm of her hand with a few water and held it earlier than me and mentioned this: "You see this water cautiously contained in my hand?" It symbolizes love. "This is how I noticed it. As lengthy as you maintain your hand caringly open and permit it to stay there, it is going to be there. However in the event you try to near your arms round it, it is going to spill via the primary cracks it unearths." This is the finest ppl do once they meet love. Try to own it, anticipate it, call for it, and it simply spills just like the water out of your hand. If there are persons you like, permit them to be loose beings. Give and do not anticipate. Advice however do not order. Ask, however on no account call for. It would sound functional however this can be a lesson that can take a life-time to real train. It is the name of the game of real love. To real Practice it , you have to honestly consider no expectancies from the ones you like, and but an unconditional worrying" Life is lovely, are living it. If you like whatever, permit it move. If it comes again to you, with out you having to plead or beg, then its yours perpetually. If it does not then it was once on no account supposed to be"

Again I agree with you. But please don't blame all of the liberals for this. I am liberal, and I think that illegal immigration is very CRIMINAL and WRONG. And the illegal immigrants should be DEPORTED!
