No. You can joke about death. You can joke about anything actually as long as you're not hurting anyone's feelings.
You shouldn't joke about anything that is going to hurt or offend someone. Try to be sensitive to the feelings of others. So if someone just lost a close family member, jokes about death would be cruel. If someone has a weight problem, jokes about fat people would be insensitive etc. Use your judgment. In the "politically correct" times in which we live it's hard to say anything that doesn't offend someone.
I usually just joke about myself & then the only person offended is me! Tee hee.
Laughter is the best medicine but don't make it hard to swallow!
I like Ellen Degeneres' humour. She pokes fun at herself & human behaviour in general in a lighthearted way that doesn't demean anyone. Toilet humour, racist or sexist or insensitive humour is pretty low & should probably be avoided if you have a wide audience...

I can't see any reason not to joke about death. it is one of the universal human experiences. We all die. That's life (or, rather, the cessation of life).
Humor can be carthartic. It can be a great coping mechanism. Many people in this age will never see a person die. they'll see corpses, but they'll never be present at that moment life departs the body. I've seen death; violent death, death because of an accident, peaceful death, death where the person struggled and death where the person welcomed it. I've been lucky enough to be able to laugh about it.

No, not only. But there are some things that u can joke about with some people and others that you can joke about it with. Like some people totally HATE racial jokes and some people love them. I don' t have a problem with them, but some people do and I can understand that.

It is called hospital humour. It is often put to use as comic relief.
Humour gets us through our tragic life experiences. Some times the humour to bystanders will seem harsh and disrespectful but believe me it isn't. I like to laugh at death, blatantly as a challenge.
My daughter died when she was eleven. She had lost her grandfather a few months before she was diagnosed with cancer. She said after her final prognosis of terminal was voiced by her doctors that she was glad he was dead because the news of her cancer would have killed him and she would not be able to live with that hanging over her head..
So there you go. Funny? Funny Sad? Actually we thought it was hysterically funny.

Death is the only thing that you should joke about so that you overcome the fear of it. The only thing that you should not joke about is your wife's boobs & *** in my opinion.

i wouldn't joke about anything that could offend someone too terribly, such as disease, disability, religion, death, etc..the biggies. Joking should be meant for humor, not for harm.
