I saw an old lady ghost figure a few years back in a friends house along with four other people who witnessed her at the same time. I've never been afraid to describe that experience since and has definately been one of the life changing moments, good experience.

I've have been aware of a malign presence, but only once. There was a house I lived in where I would NEVER be alone in the kitchen. I could always feel a tightness around my neck. It was a rented house and the owner hung herself just before we moved out. I've also had an experience where I was about to make a big life choice and I still don't know if was a dream or reality but my late father seemed to show me a way of letting go of bonds and moving forward. I did, and it was the best move I've made. I also often saw a little girl on a staircase in an office I worked in, when I mentioned it to colleagues some of them looked a bit uncomfortable but some asked "did she look like........?" and described what I had seen. They never actually admitted that they had seen the same thing. I've had several similar experiences where I've hear or smelt (!) things. The only other negative experience was when a group of friends were messing about a ouija board. I said that I wasn't going to take part and moved to another room. They 'received' some really messages but I had asked God for protection from evil and prayed for them while it was going on. One of the guys was particularly afraid of what he experienced and I took him aside and prayed and although he's not a believer he felt very much better and the negative he had received did happen, but he was not involved. There exist Good and Evil and we should leave well alone!

Sorry, that wasn't really the question and I've burbled on!

If they are afraid to admit it to themselves or others, it would be impossible to determine how many there are, since no one would have knowledge of it. If you simply want to know if someone has seen a ghost and is willing to share the experience, then you have a place to start. However, the people who are unwilling to admit the experience would still be left out. Thus, your results would be faulty.

My step monster... sorry, mother gave a full description of a ghost she had seen at a hospital she worked in. It could only have been a ghost because of what it was wearing, where it was and the fact it disappeared half way down the stairs!
But, she doesn't believe in ghosts..... to this day she will say there is no such thing!! Don't figure!!!

Years ago, my old boyfriend and I were renting the bottom flat of an old house. One day, when everyone in the entire house (up and down) were at work, I was sitting at my desk typing a resume on a standard typewriter.

After I finished typing the resume, I rolled it out of the typewriter and it accidentally fell on the floor. I bent down to pick it up. As I was straightening, there was a lady standing about 4 feet away from me wearing a long blue dress. By the time my eyes looked to her face, the apparition had gone.

Needless to say, I got out of the house so fast, it would have made your head swim. I stayed at my mother's until my boyfriend came home from work. He tried to conviince me that I didn't see anything. After a few hours of convincing, I went back home with him.

When we got back to the house, I told the people who lived upstairs of the incidence. They told me that there had been frequent sightings of the lady wearing the long blue dress.

Lived in a house for 6 years which was haunted, wasn't pleasant as the spirits were not friendly and lots of bad things happened there. Never actually saw anything whilst living there, but heard plenty of unexplained noises in the night.

Where I work have seen shadows when on night shifts, thinking someone was walking past the door but when checking, found all my patients were in their beds, (Work within the NHS).

Not afraid of ghosts, my belief is that its the living people you have to worry about, the dead can't hurt you, but maybe they can scare us sometimes.

I am sure that number runs into the millions.... taking in the worlds population yes it would be millions of people that would not say something out of fear or peer pressure........................
I can say this that where ever humans beings have ever inhabited, Ghost or spirits have appeared. There is no known country that has not reported such an incident... Also you have to remember people fear of the unknown.. Think of it in this way in a small town in Ohio 20 people at a party spotted an supernatural event... And only 1 person stood by his story............................................................................................ By when the other 19 were questioned in private they admitted that the one person was correct in all of his statements...................................................................................
