If you're asking for general advice about going into the workplace. I would ask you - what do you enjoy doing? Do you like helping people? Do you like to be in or outdoors? The list of questions is nearly endless to allow you to focus on what type of job you want to do.

For me - I like dealing with tricky problems. I like backtracking and finding out how things work and generally troubleshooting. I work in computing, so I think I've found something I can enjoy doing.

Finding something that you enjoy doing can be hard work. I had about 15 jobs, ranging from bricklaying to fish packing to electricians mate to my final role as a computer engineer. I love it, but it took me a while to find that out.

Don't be afraid to try something new - you will make mistakes - everybody does - but you'll also have loads of fun finding out what clicks as a career for you.

If you are still at school there will be a career guidance teacher somewhere. If you're not, there will be some sort of adult guidance worker in a similar role in your local community - find them and discuss your options and possibilities with them.

Good Luck

Well, your job is a huge part of your life, so it's a great idea to choose something that you enjoy doing, that pays a decent wage, and lets you do your bit to help out humanity in any small way. It's important that as well as taking care of your financial needs, your job provides you with self esteem and fullfillment. What interests you? Nursing, medicine, animal welfare, teaching, language, writing; the world's your oyster.

Whatever you enjoy is a good job to do. People who like their jobs are many times more productive than those who don't. And they are much happier with less stress in their lives.

And whoever said "crab FISHING" ain't done it. First of all it's more like "trapping" since u use crab pots to put bait in and trap the crabs inside. And it's boring as hell. We just call it "crabbin".
