I have re-installed a fresh XP on my laptop but now I can't see the driver that came with the laptop. I'm sure I can usewindows driver to connect to my wireless network at home. But I can't get the wireless options to detect/configure wireless at all. I dont need to create a new wireless network because that runs on my desktop.

You will need to reinstall the WIRELESS CARD drivers! Those usually aren't native to XP.

If you have a built in wireless you can usually download the wireless driver from the manufacturers website. If you have an add on card go to that manufacturers website for the card driver.

Once the card is recognized you can indeed use XP to connect but the CARD has to be seen by the operating system first.

i've got been dealin with a similar good undertaking all week with my prompt connection. Unplug your modem for roughly 2 minutes and then hit reset button on your router for 30 seconds. Then plug your modem back up and notice in case you're related. If this does not artwork, I recommend reconfiguring your router and upgrading the firmware of your router. pass to your router's web site for a loose acquire of modern-day firmware updates, and then pass into your routers configuration and replace with the hot firmware which you downloaded.
