Now i am on summer vacation and my math teacher always gave us math packets to study for each trimester test and i still have those packet. I wanted to keep doing them to keeping practice, so that i won't forget when i go back to school for eighth grade. Cause a lot of times we start a new grade and we review what we learn the year before within the first month of school and i don't want to look stupid and forget and how to do it. I told some of my friends and they think im weird. Do u think this is a good idea?

Yes! You should definitely do this. Math is a skill that takes practice. If your friends give you a hard time, don't tell them! They are the ones who will be sorry in the fall, when they have to work twice as hard as you do (try to refrain from rubbing it in TOO much LOL). I also agree with the poster who said you should also read a book over the summer -- pick something cool and fun! Spending an hour or so a day on this (1/2 math, 1/2 reading) will pay off in the end, and give you some nice quiet downtime to boot!

I can tell you'll do great ... you have already developed the right work ethic you'll need in school!

I think that is a very good idea. You're doing yourself a big favor by reviewing. Sure it might be a pain doing it during the summer but when the first day of school comes around you're going to be really really happy that you did it and you know what's going on. Forget about what your friends are saying. Do what's best for yourself. If they were really your friends they would support you and encourage you. But personally I think that you should do it and not worry about what your friends say because your benefiting by doing the packet. Good luck!

You have the right idea on things and you can work a few problems a day and start the next school year ahead of the pack. It is like training for a sport; you are getting ready for the next year by working out in the off season. You have a great attitude and keep working hard.

It's a great idea! You can never learn too much and being prepared for the next year is very smart. They only think its wierd because they want you to have fun with them and of course they didn't think of it...good luck and keep learning.

Only a few people like you exist in this world. People who actually want to have a better education and life.

Ignore your friends and keep up the good work.

yes it is. hopefully you can stay motivated to keep doing it. your friends may think you're wierd but they'll see it wasn't such a bad idea when you breeze through the first few weeks of math.
