I am guessing that the human race will either evolve or self destruct by year 3000. We seem to be sucking earth dry, so unless we can change that, its inevitable.

The human race will always exist....There are those who are waiting for the Midnight Cry when Jesus will return to take his children home......they will live on eternally and then, there are those who are not looking for his coming..for those, human life will be over for them, when they die.
This is what I truely believe. Not wanting to offend anyone, just my humble opinion...you may have another one.
The life the faithful have here on earth (John 3:36; 5:24; 6:47, 53-58) is inseparably connected with the eternal life beyond, the endless life of the future, the happy future of the saints in heaven (Matt. 19:16, 29; 25:46).
