i usually get up 7 hours after i fall asleep the first time. im getting up 2 or 3 times though. anyhow im off tomorrow and i am wondering how long to sleep in. you know how they say a kid needs 10 hours, the average adult needs 6-8 hours, babies need 14 or so (just guessing on these by the way)
how much sleep should a pregnant woman in her 3rd trimester strive for?

As much as her aching, miserable body will allow her. I am 34 weeks pregnant with my third and wake up 5-6 times a night. I can't seem to get comfortable or stop going to the bathroom. The baby may need 14 hours, but your sleep does not contribute to the amount of sleep the baby gets. In fact, my little one sleeps most of the day, and is up at night when I am trying to sleep. I would say if you get at least 7-8 hours a night, that should be good. Then during the day, if you feel tired, take a nap.

Get as much sleep as possible. I'm 37 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I don't really get too much sleep at nite ya know since i'm up every hour peeing. So i mostly sleep during the day. I'm a first time mom to be so i'm resting up as much as possible. So should you! Plus when your in your 3 trimester you never know when your little one is ready to come so always try to be well rested :) Good luck

i'm 38 weeks and the last few weeks - i pop wide awake at 5 am. it seems my body only wants 6 hours of sleep but i know if i get that i am tired during the day. so i try to force myself back to sleep (it usually works). first trimester i could sleep 8-10 hours a night. now it's 6-7. so weird.

I don't think there's a set amount, just as much as possible. When I was pregnant, I would get up at 7 AM, see my husband off to work, go back to bed by 8 AM, sleep until 3: 30-4 PM, go to work, get off at 9 PM and be back in bed by 10 PM, so I was sleeping all the time.

As much as you can possibly squeeze in and not get achy muscles from being in bed !
You're going to need this rest for the next few months after the little person arrives !!!

Really, as much as you want. Your not going to have much sleep soon, so really get some rest and enjoy it. Don't feel guilty if your in pj's all day and lounge. Take some time for yourself.
