I'd recommend Lois Duncan books. They're paranormal mysteries. You'd especially like Gallows Hill - it deals with a girl moving to a new town and discovering she has a bizarre connection with the Salem Witch Trials.

Here are some other time travel/paranormal mysteries and historical fiction novels you might like:
Dreadful Sorry by Kathryn Reiss
King of Shadows by Susan Cooper
Witch Child by Celia Rees
Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier

Happy reading. :)

I'm around your age and these are books I love. Hope you love them too:
Sleeping Freshman Never Lie- David Lubar

The Riddles of Epsilon- Christine Morton-Shaw
The She- Carol Plum-Ucci
The Faerie Path- Frewin Jones
Blue Is for Nightmares-Laurie Faria Stolarz (this is the first in the series and I highly suggest the whole series)

Harry Potter. Start from the beginning and read the whole series this summer. If you report on an entire series, your project will be the bomb. Do it.
