I wish our opinions could influence radical muslims. In fact, there is no such thing as a radical muslim. The practices you see set forth by these "radicals" are TOTALLY against Islam's values and teachings. These people can not even be called Muslim- In fact, its a shame.
If you ever see a Muslim kill another person, understand this: they are going to hell. The value of life in the Islamic perspective is this: The loss of one life is like the loss of life for all humanity.
I'll leave you with this thought. If you search hard enough for justification for something, you'll find it. If someone truely wants to cause harm to another human being, what is stopping them from saying that they are engaging in a 'Jihad'.
What bothers me the most though, from everything I've ever seen on the news (aside from death) is the portrayal of Jihad. How much do people actually know about Jihad? Even some Muslims are being fooled into the idea its a holy war. It is FAR from that notion. In the most absolute, extrememly rarified, far fetched case, yeah, you can call it a holy war. Really though, it comes from the Arabic meaning "struggle". This stuggle is not having sex before marrage, not doing drugs, performing your five daily prayers, maintaining yourself as a good and proper muslim-----all of this daily, that is the true Jihad.
I hope what I have said helps you to understand Muslims and Islam a bit better. Please continue to ask questions like these. These are the questions that really matter to some people, and I hope that you find the information you are looking for, whether you find it from me or not. My only warning is to keep an eye out for sights that are fake- these have popped up all over the place and have gone as far to even fabricate a fake Qur'an. Please use trusted information sources like islamicfinder.com or islamcity.com (i think thats the name).
Best Wishes

This is a problem that is really old. The average person in the USA now or Germany during WW II was led by the few who wanted money and power. We are being taken to the cleaners now by our government. I saw our new vehicle in the Army in 1965. The fuel was water. Will add a link to show this process below. We could be using water for fuel now, but that would really have upset the big oil people. When there was no gas at the pump in 1975, I called the US Army Transportation Center where I had seen the vehicle and found that all traces of the vehicle had been removed. The other part of this equation deals with God. Man created God because he did not want to die. Man wanted to be immortal. The other link below is about immortality. Hope these links will help, but I don't think it is just the Muslims. We have had almost the same things with the Inquisition and the Crusades. Still ... God Bless Us One and All !!!

Majority doesn't seem to bother Bush either. He still does whatever he wants regardless of what MOST Americans want. Anyway, which radical Muslims do you mean, because I have not seen one LEADER of any Muslim country kill Americans. It is the Americans who kill Muslims.

It is one of two things.
One, is that they are deathly afraid of the radical Muslims and think the radicals will kill them if they speak up.
Two, they believe in the Koran and believe the radicals are doing exactly as they are supposed to do for all Muslims.
No matter what the radical Muslims do, the so called moderate Muslims NEVER condemn their acts.
Your call. Pops

Not sure - but I was thinking about that just today in light of what is going on in Gaza. Perhaps, moderates, whether in the Islamic world or even in the USA, are somewhat like wall flowers...I guess ultimately, we must move from the center and take a strong position on whatever it is.

The same reason that the beliefs of liberal and moderate Christains have little to no effect on the radical and/or fundamental Christains. People believe what they want to believe.

You need to understand these Terrorists are just like you and I , if someone dishonoured your family, defeated the army where your Family had served for generations and humiliated you, you would want to kill them too. Personally I find swapping pure heroin for the cut heroin in their syringe has a satisfactory effect, but crashing a 737 into a large building was OK I would have used a 747 myself, but we are splitting hairs here. Who are these moderates, anyway, I think you would be hard pressed to find any east of Islington.

Hmmm. Why not substitute 'Muslims' for 'Christians' or 'Jews' and answer your own question?
Religion is really for the fanatics, and the moderates of all faiths are just in denial. They have no say and no impact at all.

Why do moderate christians have no affect on extremist christians...???
It's just the way it is when people believe so strongly in the cause.... right or wrong is not the issue.

Most of them don't even do anything about radical Islam. Very few seem to actually speak out against it. And so, since silence is consent, then they're not of much help, are they?
