Well, Archaeology is a multi-disciplinary field. I hope you plan on being in school a long-time. :) For a good solid background to become an archaeologist, you will need lots of history, lots of anthropology, and lots of science. In the science area, mainly physics, biology and human anatomy. Some basic geology wouldn't hurt either.

You can check out the free courseware offered by MIT. There is available a specific course "Introduction to Archaeology". http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Materials-Science-and-Engineering/3-986Fall-2006/Readings/index.htm

Good luck,

You should go to US Colleges Search. Anyways, instead of you doing all the work to find out the Archeologist Colleges yourself, you should look at this link.

http://www.uscollegesearch.org/archeology-colleges.html

This is if you are ready for college though. You might want to click one of the colleges that is around your area. It will lead to that college's homepage and you could look for some classes there. I hope you like this answer.

i don't understand of any faculties in united statesa., yet I in simple terms decide for to make sparkling something that somebody has wrongly stated right here. Archaeology would properly be a substantial if the college can provide it. maximum will furnish in simple terms Anthropology (after which you will take classes in Archaeology) yet there are quite faculties available that furnish Archaeology as a substantial (and fairly some categories of Archaeology - Classical/close to jap, North American [business or Pre-historic), Underwater, Medieval, etc.etc. all as separate majors). in simple terms clarifying!

Visit your local library and read books about archeology. Visit websites about archeology too.
