For the last few nights I have been dreaming of a river that I am absolutely afraid of (I'm not scared of water in real life). The water is not muddy but it is dark and even though the sun is out the water doesn't sparkle. There also is a semi-rough current. In the same dream my ex best guy friend is in it (I'm a girl). What could this mean? Does the water have something to do with my feelings for him?

Hey i am not sure what this guy means in the water. Probably once in a month i dream about water,

Apparently in Indian culture, it is supposed to be good luck,

Look out for lucky cloud in the sky.

Semi-rough Current Dark River=your troubling subconscious thoughts/feelings (about your ex guy friend, cuz he's the one in it)
Sun=conscious awareness or knowledge, enlightenment

You are not completely aware of how much you feel for him and you are afraid of those feelings you have for him. These feelings are troubling you. The water doesn't sparkle, which to me means you are not reflecting on your feelings for him and are suppressing those feelings.

This doesn't mean you are in love with him, though that's likely. But your break-up as friends is still haunting you. Maybe it would help if you wrote out all your negative feelings you have over your former friend and your separation. It'll force you to deal with those issues and maybe shed some light on what's troubling you.

dream interpretation is a hard one - guess we pick the one we like or it sounds the most logical. I understand that dreams are the way our brains file memories and cross reference those thoughts with others, First thought on you sound like water / dark area - gotta be your moms womb. Your best friend - a boy sound like when you are in such an encasement - you want your friend near by. The semi rough current is the situation causing you strife and the wish to withdraw to safety (the womb) and the protector / helper, your best friend. Maybe you want your best friend to now be more than a best friend and you want to take that safe friend to a more intimate level. Then again perhaps you just want to go swiming with your friend at night in the ocean,

Clear waters have spiritual meaning, dark waters....have dark meanings... and can signify your own ill health. In this case your dream involved a friend and if we are to take dream interpretation literally then this would signify that you are envious of him or of his current status. But it's only a dream right....? Not knowing of your current relationship with him, it's hard to add any more substance to the interpretation. Guessing only, I would say your ex is in someway holding you back, maybe he knows something you don't want another to know?

There are many online dream interpretation sites, but they should be used for fun and not taken seriously.

It sounds like something is troubling you concerning this man. Usually dreams are a reflection of how your thoughts are melding together to consolidate memories in the abscence of any direction from your rational nature. Sometimes it may be a reflection of some concerns you have or associated thoughts and/or feelings, and sometimes the associations are random. You should reflect on it in a waking rationale state and make up your own mind.

Water is usally a sign of your emotional state. If the water is clear, thast good but if its murkey or choppy then its bad.
