Sangria - IF 7 of the hijackers were found alive stop providing us with .org crap. A hijacker is as defined: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_hijacking
So if they were alive they wouldn't be on the aircraft thus NOT making them hijackers but conspirators to such crime. dot org, dot org! Is that all you have?

I'd like to know why peeps like Baghdad Rosie think that fire can't melt steel. After all, common sense into play here, how do they form the steel to make those beams? Do engineers ask the steel politely to form to their specs?! lol! It takes fire liberals!!!

Oh, you like to make trouble don't ya.
Well here is my 2 cents.
The fuel from the air planes combined with some damage to the insulation on the steel did quite a number on the towers.
1. The fuel does NOT burn hot enough to "melt" the steel. However the fuel burns plnty hot enough for the steel to lose 60-70% of its tensile strength.
2. Add a couple of damaged steel beams due to the collision. alone this does not matter to the overall structure.
3. Add many steel members with damaged or missing insulation. Purpose of the insulation is to delay heat transfer to the steel and thus improve the amount of time that the structure remains viable in a large fire.
4. Add thousand of gallons of avaiation fuel
5. Add hundred of pounds of paper and htousands of pounds of other combustibles.
6. Add a good hot fire for an extended period of time.
From this the steel heats up and as it heats it loses strength. Once a few members fail in a given spot a rapid cascade effect will follw. reason withthe failure of each member, or the weakening of any member, the remaining members have to take that more much wieght from the struture above.
Once the first floor fails, the structure below is no longer supporting a static load. (statis load are much easier to support.
Want simple proof, lie down. put a board on your chest the have a child sit on the board. Raise the child in the aird a foot or so.
Tell the child to wiggle. As soon as the child starts to wiggle you will understand...
Now, as the complete wieght of the structure above falls one floor down, it accelerate until it hits the next floor. In this motion it gains momentum. When this large mass collides with the next floor the structural memebers will fail. then the larger mass will move down to the enxt floor. As this progresses the total moving mass continues to grow and the overall process will accelerate.
Reminder, building do not implode because demolitions experts are crazy effient in placing charges, buildings implode because building strutures natually push wietght to the center of the structure thus aiding a building to fall straight down.
Imagine that each time the falling mass hits the next floor the center collapsed before the exterior. This is what drive the whold thing to fall inward...
Explosives experts take advantage of this by "blowing" the center supports to start the natural process.
K now I'll wiat and read some of the conspiracy cr#&

two nearly fully loaded jet planes were hijacked by terrorists and flown into the Twin Towers. The resulting damage and fire caused them to collapse.
another jet plane was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon.
a third hijacked airliner went down when passengers fought back (this is what evidence suggests, having not been on board, we cannot know for certain) in a field in Shanksville, PA.
I live only 20 miles from Shanksville and visit the site often to pay tribute to the lives lost there, so please don't dishonor them and the rest who lost their lives that day with ludicrious, unfounded conspiracy theories.

Good answer Jeff. If interested in more technical answers:
http://web.mit.edu/civenv/wtc/
http://www.tms.org/pubs/journals/JOM/0112/Eagar/Eagar-0112.html
Not exactly light reading, just if you are interested.
But pretty much like Jeff said. Planes hit buildings, fireproofing destroyed, fire causes lose in steel strength, combine that with lose of structural members, and you have the potential for a progressive collapse. Which we all saw on 9/11. And trust me, I know more structural design than the likes of Charlie Sheen, Rosie O'Donnell, or the producers of "Loose Change."
I don't know why the CT crowd can't understand this. Perhaps a sense of self-importance that they know a secret, so they have some grandiose melodrama in their lives. That is really the interesting question to me. The psychology of the CT crowd.

It replaced into shot down with the aid of militia airplane except you suspect what the authorities says and you think of that is achieveable that a airplane can crash and function it debris unfold over a 4 mile radius without products larger than a yellow pages.

Terrorists working for Al Qaeda hijacked four planes. They flew two into the WTC, one into the Pentagon, and the other was forced to fly into the ground when the passengers tried to retake the plane.

Rosie O'Donnell has a whole theory worked out about that.
There were bombs planted inside the towers.
The planes we saw on the news were CGI, doy!

Well the Terrorists attacked America and killed almost 3,000 Americans while they were at work.
More than we lost at Pearl Harbor.
Please tell me you don't think it was an "Inside Job". That makes about as much sense as a Michael Moore Fantasy Film...
P.S. I got your intent. There are still folks who swear it was a conspiracy...
