We live in California and went to see my cousin graduate from college in New Jersey, which is where my family is originally from. My wife had never been to New York City. I took her around the entire city, went to the Museum of Natural History, took her to Tiffany's (No I didn't buy anything there), then took her to Little Italy for an amazing dinner. That night we took a cab to the Empire State Building, caught the last lift up and on the observation tower I proposed. She said yes and a group of tourists cheered for us. I know it's a cheesy story but it's entirely true.

My husband and I took our 3 kids (2 mine and 1 his) to Mexico on vacation. One night after the kids are asleep and we took a walk along the beach, sat and watched the waves crashing on the shore, the moon reflected off of the water, he got down on one knee and asked me....I cried and said yes.
We told the kids the next morning in the same spot and we have all had fun telling the story.

We had talked about marriage, but in that long time off sort of way. We went shopping at the mall one day when he said, hey let's look at some rings... that way I will know what you like. I said ok... it was exciting. We looked at hundreds... and no we didn't buy one. The next day he called me as I was leaving my last class of the day (was a senior in college). He asked if we could go to dinner. I said sure... pick me up at 5. Well 5 rolled around and no Marcus. He was always on time so I started worrying a little. He called and said he was stuck in traffic and it would be an half hour or better. I said fine and went on about my business. He called when he got to our campus and I went downstairs and got into his truck. I opened the console immediately and took out my chapstick. I closed the console, flipped it up out of the way, and sat in the middle of the truck like always. He just giggled and told me I was addicted to my chapstick. After dinner we were just out riding talking about our lives. He showed me his old home that was close to campus. When we got to the end of the street, he said we needed to talk and I needed to sit in the passenger seat. That was not what I wanted to hear... I thought he was going to say we need to take a break or something. I was scared to death... and was ready to cry. He was talking in circles and was totally not making sense. I was looking out the window and not so nicely told him to just say whatever it was he needed to say. He started giggling and I turned to see what he was doing in the console. Yeah, he was holding an open box with this amazing ring shining up at me. I felt like such an idiot!! Then I cried and he cried! It was the greatest moment ever. Ten minutes later he asked me "are you going to marry me or not"? I had forgotten to give him an answer. I exclaimed yes! Then we went back to campus and showed off the ring and took tons of pictures!

My husband proposed to me by taking me to his apartment. When I entered the door, I saw the table which had about 2 dozen pink roses (my fav) on it. I admired the flowers, but then when I looked closer, I saw a diamond ring in one of the roses! It was very romantic and I'll always remember it.

I stopped the car at Zzyzx Road off I-15, pulled over and did the deed. That way, when we kept going back and forth between her relatives and our San Diego home, the memory would be there.
I think she forgot. We are now divorced and live in Las Vegas.

We had been dating for 2 years and one night after he and I made love, he turned to me and asked me "Do you want to get married?" I nearly jumped out the bed.
"Of course I do!" I screamed at 3 AM that night.
We got married the following month and 12 years later we are still together.

take her/him to their favorite place. Get down on one knee. Pull a huge diamond ring out of your pocket & say "Love, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife/husband?" Let a couple of tears fall from your eyes to make it really emotional.
