I would just recommend getting a new keyboard, it would save you a lot of time, not to mention they are quite cheap.

Turn it upside down and give it a good shake.
Use a thin paintbrush and try and brush between the keys.
There should be some screws on the back. Remove those to give you access to inside the keyboard.
Put the screws back in.
Wipe the keys and keyboard with a soft cloth using some washingup liquid.

5 years means, it not only collected the dust, but I think the keys too should have turned sticky. Well, a handy vaccum cleaner is always best to clean keyboards. But, the sticky part is tough to clean with vaccum cleaner.
Well, my sincere suggestion is to buy a new keyboard, they are damn cheap now !!!

use cotton buds to get rid of the junk, an easier way is to remove the keys with a blunt table knife. Then get some cotton wool and enter it into the key holes (not too deep). and spray with water. Pull out the cotton wool and re-insert the keys.
Hey presto! GOOD LUCK

Buy a can of compressed air to blow out the dust. You can find these at any electronics store.
I suggest Alcohol wipes for cleaning off the gunk. They leave my keyboard sparkling and almost completely germ-free.

I use my wifes make-up brush--just brush and blow on it at the same time. You can use the compressed air but its more expensive and does the same thing.
