Virus!!!!!!!!!?

there is a stupid virus
on my comp
cause of my stupid friend
he went on this stupid porn
site(idk until i came into the room)
and now its taking over my comp
what do i do please help me
i scanned my whole comp
and it said somthing is affcting my staus
but it doesnt tell me what it is
so please somone help me

Try a online antivirus scanner and a online anti-adware/malware/spyware scanner in safe mode with network to clean up your computer before you download anything.

To get in safe mode tap F8 when booting you computer.
Choose "Safe mode with network".
Go to Start – Run - type iexplore http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html Enter(ok).
Do a full system scan. If something is found, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.
When that scan does not find anything you reboot again in safe mode with network.
Go to Start – Run – type iexplore http://www.ewido.net/en/ Enter(ok).
Do a full scan. If you find something, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.

**NOTE: Do NOT do anything else with your computer when scanning. This because you can start virus/adware/spyware/malware manually.

When no one of these scanners are showing anything your computer is clean and you can reboot back to normal mode.

Now you need to get a antivirus program, a firewall and some spyware/adware/malware removers if you don't have it.
I use Norton Internet Security on my desktop running XP Home SP2.
On my laptop i have Ubuntu 7.04. No security needed in Linux, but i have antivirus and firewall.

Please run what is known as "online scanner", from Kaspersky Russia. Rated # 1 in the world for virus detection. The scan will have no impact on your current antivirus software. Scan can take upto two hours depending on how many running proceses and how many program you have installed. Will kill the virus in real time. Suggust you reboot after.

What did you scan your computer with? If it was an anti-virus program then why hasn't it removed it?

On the other hand have you/your friend downloaded a trojan (a fake anti-spyware) program and that is telling you (falsely) that you have lots of spyware/viruses on your computer?

If the second is true, then you need to identify the trojan and then do a Google search on the trojan name and find out how to get rid of it (which is likely to be complicated).

Is it a virus or is it spyware?
Spybot Search and Destroy or AdAware (both are free) will probably cure the problem if it's spyware.
