I would just like to add that the economic growth must be related to decisions made by the people who rule (or ruled) China for the past 60 years. As for the liberalization of Russia's economy , it is derived from the sheer exhaustion of natural reserves and consequent economic decline. This made the flaws in the system so evident, that it fall apart.

YES!! There is a conspiracy going on.

It's in the form of China's five year plans that are reviewed yearly and adjusted where need be.

Our few plans are done in secret....example, Cheney's energy plan, were still trying to find out about that one.

Go too:
http://www.china.org.cn and find their five year plans. They have them going back to the first one on that site.

It's time the USA starts planning instead of muddling along or doing it in secret.

Peace

I don't think so. China no longer really has a planned economy, so instead of having a few men in a shadowy boardroom deciding how the economy runs, every Chinese citizen decides it through every purchase they make, and through their jobs. This is bound to mean economic growth. A similar thing happened to the former USSR when the economy became liberalised.

China really does have an AWFUL lot of everything, energy, resources, people and money - it's only recently that all these things have been allowed to realise their full potential.

What conspiracy? A huge, relatively educated work force coupled with a large expansion in industrial capacity, added to trade agreements with companies like WalMart, equal economic growth. Oh, and China.... doesn't feel the need to turn the world Chinese. So they don't waste money (BILLIONS) fighting every Tom, Dick, or Harry that doesn't like them.

Doubtful, although I am sure that many conspiracies will arise because of it.
