I don't advise going to Outback Steak House for Fathers day(or any other day for that matter)...slick commercials...but when I went there, the place looked like any other food outlet, the menu offered nothing special, and the food was bland and terribly pricey.
Now I know there must be some out there who think the food is good...I used to think about the clap-trap car I drove while I was in college which I found "entertaining"...of course until I finished school and could afford the real deal.
If you want to spend $100 on a meal, I suggest going somewhere where you enjoy the food, not the gimmicks designed to snare the customer.

I recommend the 99, O'Charleys or Stoneyriver. I work for the chain (they are all owned by the same parent company) and they have great food for very reasonable prices (the most expensive item is the fillet mignon 10 oz 2 sides $17.99 but very good) Kids are always welcome, staff is friendly and a family of 6 can eat for well under 100 bucks. Try it out, 99 is all over the North East O'Charleys is the south east and the mid west has Stoneyriver.

I 100% agree with you! I have never liked Outback and I could never see why anyone else did. If you are looking for a good steakhouse may I suggest LoneStar Steak House. This is not to be confused with Longhorn Steak House. LoneStar is a little bit harder to find but they are a decent Steak House that is about the same price. If you want to spend a little more, there are many local steak houses that are really good. If you want more info let me know you region and I might know of a good place!

There IS! It's called Fogo De Chao. They have a drop-dead wine list, as much amazing meat as you can handle, huge antipasti salad bar (the most beautiful asparagus I have ever seen!), top-notch service, and a specialty drink called the Capirina, which I have no idea how to spell. It's made with lime, sugar and Cachaca, a liqueur distilled from sugar cane.
There may or may not be one in your area ... it's mostly major cities. Check it out at fogodechao.com. Don't go to any of the other Brazilian churrascarias, they all suck. Believe me, I've tried them.

An anatomically correct blow up doll for the ladies. Not saying I'm Bart Savagewood or anything, but come on, crash dummies look like Barbies from the waist down. Nothing there, really.

Yeah, but I love their Margaritas, and hubby is addicted to the Bloomin' Onion. We usually go their for happy hour only, to fill up on onion & 'ritas.
The steaks are ok, but honestly, nothing beats fresh steak grilled at home. Commercially prepared food is generally pretty yucky.

I am with you on that one... The only thing I like from there is the salads, and they are not worth the price. We go to The Texas Roadhouse, which is far better in price and quality of food.

GOOD POINT.
don't get me wrong, the food is decent, but not the greatest and definitely not worth the jacked-up prices they charge for average food. A simple chicken dish is $12 or more!

I feel ya buddy. Usually the most unsuspecting places have the best food or 'bang for your buck'. Better luck next time.
