A story ran on MSNBC today about an Applebees in California that mistakenly served a toddler a mixed drink instead of apple juice. Apparently, the drink and the juice were kept in identical colored pitchers, so the person who filled the order just wasn't paying attention when he poured the liquid into the toddler's sippy cup. The toddler got sick and had to be taken to the hospital due to vomitting. He was fine in a matter of hours. Applebees told the mother of the child that she could have free meals there from now on... and the mother said, "No way -- that's ridiculous to think that I'd ever go back to Applebees again!" My question is this: If the same thing happened to you, would you stop going to Applebees altogether, or would you take their offer to eat there for free??

Im pretty sure Applebees deeply regreats that incident and whats the chances of somthing like that happening again. It was a fluke. Flukes happen every day. If u walked out the door one day and stepped in a pile of crap and won a million dollars would u step in a pile of crap every day.... I hope not. I would continue dining at Applebees.

i love applebees.!! i understand the a mistake was made. i doubt that the worker would serve a toddler alcohol on purpose, it was an honest mistake. i would acutaly think of it as a plus! not only a free meal, but a free food from now on!!

I would take advantage of the free food offer. Things happen and I probably would just make sure that they didn't mess things up again. Would you rather hold a grudge against a restaurant or have guaranteed free food for life? That's serious savings.

I would take the offer. Mistakes are made and now I bet that the 2 drinks will be put in different pitchers!!

No way! If I got those free meals on the count of my child getting sick, you must be joking if you think I would return. Oh no, not under any circumstances.

It was a mistake anyone could have made. I'd go back, but maybe to a different Applebee's if I was embarrassed about it.

I think I would take them in on their offer.. Free food is always good. Although a very bad one, I'm sure it was an honest mistake and they will do everything in their power to prevent this from happening again.
It's a good thing the kid was ok.

I've had trouble at this restaurant, how did they handle it, gave me the meal for free, but I know others who have bad luck there also. Would I go back no way.

I would eat there again. I am sure that they will all think twice about keeping them in the same or even similer containers again. And yeah free is a very good price..especially if you have kids.
