You mean you don't like the war, but you still support the troops?
I agree with you. I dont like the war. But I do believe that our soldiers are doing a damn good job, putting thier life on the line for our country. They deserve positive attention from the media. In school, we send them care packages and I more than support that. Thats what I take to mean "supporting the troops". I dont support the war, but our troops are damn fine.
Is that what you're looking for?

There over there whether you like it or not. Pretty black and white if you ask me. Nope. I suppose you would rather be under dictitorial rule? That's probably where we would be if they weren't dying for your right to be anti-war. War sucks, no doubt about it, but either you want to live free or not. There are alot of freaks out their who would like to tell you what you can think, who you can worship, etc. I'd rather kick their asses than submit to their ideology but then again maybe you wouldn't? The problem with anti-war people is they think we live in a perfect world where everyone can get along. Never gonna happen until the afterlife. There are too many people in this world who are greedy, power mad, and just plain sick. I'd personally rather stick a gun in their faces when the need arises before they point one at my family. Freedom isn't free and it's never been given by the hands of a peace activist. Meanwhile you keep hoping and remember, our troops have got your back!

Yeah, sure. Support the troops, but try to bring them home at the same time. Or at least get them decent equipment.
I am strongly against the war, but I have the highest level of respect for people who will put their life on the line for our country, all political beliefs aside.

Of course. It's a free country. And techincally, the troops are probably anti-war knowing what they are going through. They're just following orders.

you really shouldn't be anti anything, you can be for peace,i am Canadian so i cant really support your troops, however my father was a soldier for the united states army but he was drafted...and not properly debriefed most people enter the army reserve to help with post secondary schooling and health benefits, when they are deployed they are doing their jobs,so you should definitely support the troops because most of them probably just wanted a decent education and probably didn't expect to be deployed to Iraq so hate on the administration not the soldiers, they are just doing their job and that is admirable..don't you think

Damn right it is! It doesn't matter if you agree with the war or not. The people in the military are doing their jobs, which is to go where they are sent. Each of them signed up to take a bullet for all of us, and fight for the freedoms we enjoy daily. What's going on in the current war has nothing to do with the troops.
BTW Welcome to being an American!

From the troops perspective...NO. If you ever were in the military you might understand their thinking. Goes this way. If you do not support their mission...the war in Iraq then you do not support them and the sacrifices they make to accomplish the mission.

If the hand fits the glove and you are giving the finger to the right person, then I guess it's OK... After all the soldiers are just doing their job. It's not like anybody gave them a choice.

I would have thought being anti-war WAS supportive - you can't get much more supportive than wanting them to stop getting blown up can you?
