I'm going to use the standard lineup of 18 players and 2 Goalies that the NHL has used since 1955 (except 1972-1983 when it was 2 and 17))
Goalies: Terrance Sawchuk
Vladislav Tretiak (Had the pleasure of knowing him when we were both with the Black Hawks)
Defence: Doug Harvey
Bobby Orr
Rod Langway
Raymond Bourque
Scott Stevens
Larry Robinson
Forwards: Gordie Howe
Maurice Richard
Jean Beliveau
Phil Esposito
Wayne Gretzky
Mario Lemieux
Bobby Clarke
Mike Bossy
Sidney Crosby
Denis Savard (he and Bobby Orr have enough skilled moves in their pockets to dazzle everyone)
Igor Larionov
Erich Kuehnhackl (In 1975, the New York Rangers offered to make him the highest paid player ever - he turned them down because he was making more money in Germany - Vladislav Tretiak and Phil Esposito both marvelled at his talent)

Sadly, I have not had the good fortune to watch hockey pre-1980. So most of the players from my list are 1980 and later, except for the ones with such impeccable reputations that I could not leave them off even though I've never seen them play.
F: Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe, Hull, Richard, Bossy, Lafleur, Yzerman, Hull
D: Orr, Bourque, Pronger, Lidstrom, Stevens, MacInnis.
G: Roy, Hasek
People may question my choices of Scott Stevens and Al MacInnis, but they each played about 15-20 years - and have each year always been on the plus side of the +/-. I think that's absolutely amazing, and important for a defenceman. Also, if I'm a forward carrying the puck across the blue line, I don't know if there's anyone scarier to meet than Scott Stevens.

G - Terry Sawchuck, Vladislav Tretiak
D - Doug Harvey, Bobby Orr, Larry Robinson, Paul Coffey, Ray Bourque, Nick Lidstrom
F - Maurice 'Rocket' Richard, Gordie Howe, Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Mark Messier, Steve Yzerman, Jaromir Jagr, Pavel Bure
Thanks for the fantasy...
