Me and my wife are expecting a baby girl in the next few weeks. My surname is Green and we both have agreed on Amber. I just thought Id have a check on here to see what you think of it? Hit or Miss?

Both her first name and last name will be colors....not so sure that is a good thing-but it is something to definitely consider.

On the fence. I mean, I love the name Amber, but i'm not sure about the first and last names being colors. Perhaps you could use Amber as a middle name. Maybe Elizabeth Amber Green, or something of that nature.

MISS!!!! do not give her this name unless it has a very special meaning in your family. Amber Green?? think about what you are saddling the poor kid with!!!! DO NOT name her Amber for the love of God and all that is Holy!!

I in simple terms have been given a rainbow in my head. No, i does not. I do in simple terms like the call Amber (in spite of the certainty that i be attentive to 2 Ambers and dislike the two certainly one of them strongly), yet i do in contrast to Violet that plenty, nor do i like the colour. they do no longer sound that stable at the same time the two, in simple terms my opinion.

Actually, my first name is Amber, so I think that's cool! But, I never much cared for the name myself. Everyone else always told me they liked it, though. So, if you and your wife both like the name......GO FOR IT!!!!

Awesome name, Definitely a hit. When I was growing up this is the name I would have chosen for myself. Its always been a favorite. Have you picked a middle name too? If not Lynne goes really well. Congratulations on your baby and best wishes.

Amber? Ahh, NO! Too over-done, and tends to be cerebrally auto-linked to "not-too-bright".
Don't go that route. Be creative. You can do waaaayyyy better then Amber. (However if it has a close, special meaning to you or a close relative, my apologies!)
It's not death, but it's pretty awful.
