Do you honestly think if it were, say, members of the Winthrop Basketball team (primarily Black college team in the south) that were alleged to have committed lude acts at a team party, that they'd be free right now? Do you really think there would be an outcry of sympathy for them and a thorough investigation would have taken place. Be honest in your answers. I know this question may upset some people. It is the culture that this country perpetuates.............division based on color.

You obviously have answered your own question.
They are free because they didn't do it.
If you want to be brutally honest, if they weren't white to begin with, this case would not have drawn the attention it received. It received this ridiculous amount of attention because of people like you who touted the race card from the beginning. People saying "oh those rich white boys taking advantage of the poor black woman", etc. Now it turns out the woman is mentally unstable and lied about the incident. Now we get to hear "just because they are white there is an outcry of sympathy". The reason for the outcry is because of the amount of biased prejudiced biggotry calling them guilty and ruining their lives before the truth was out. The sympathy is justified.
The country doesn't perpetuate the rift in color, it is people that jump to the color division about everything.

This answer comes to you from Durham, NC (home of Duke University and North Carolina Central University). Those young men are free today because they were duly exonerated in a court of law after careful consideration of all evidence in the charges against them. We are at peace with that.
