The aria is Nessun Dorma. It is widely associated with Luciano Pavarotti. I saw this video. I will agree, for an untrained armature, he is great with tons of potential. Watch Pavarotti sing it on YouTube, to see the MASTER! One of the high lites of my life was to see him live in concert!

Just to add some info, the aria Nessun dorma from Turandot was made world-wide famous by Pavarotti, but this elsewhere great tenor isn't the ideal voice for the rest of the role of Prince Calaf. According to generally accepted criteria, the interpretation of reference is the one by Franco Corelli (and Birgit Nilsson as Turandot). I tend to agree.

There was no "original artist", as this is from an opera (Turandot) first performed in Italy in 1926. It is by Puccini, but he died before it was finished. While the first artist to sing this was the tenor Miquel Fleta, it is now mostly associated with Pavarotti who made it his "signature piece" .

in deferrence to "the Italian" , me "the Sicilian" agree on Corelli but like the Bjorling recording better even though he is not Italian.Jussi also did the best Pinkerton.
