Best Party Game to Buy: Mario Party 8.
I rented and played Rayman, which a lot of fun, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't Wii multi-player fun. The mini games were entertaining, and odd at times, but overall it's a rental game.
On the other hand, Mario Party is an amazingly fun game. You will not get bored of it. I've already held two parties at my house with the game. Also, you can play with your Miis. But let me clarify, when you play with your Miis, you're playing on a few selected mini games; you can't actually play in the main game with your Miis.

Right now you should buy mario party8 and super paper mario and then wait till christmas to buy the new super smash brothers.
