if your using it on your lap.. stop doing it.. it maybe called a laptop, but its not meant to sit on ya lap.. but there are probably vents underneath that your blocking. make sure your not blocking any of the vents.

use it on a desk or a table where air can get to it. or use it on a tray.

if your using it on a table etc.. well sounds like the fan might not be working. need to send it in for repair.

Shoot the canned air into the air vents for about 15-20 seconds. That stuff is real cold and helps when you are in a pinch.

Go to your local office supply store, they have fans that are in cased in a flat box (I'm not sure how to describe it) you sit the laptop on top of it and the fans will cool the computer down.

This is fairly commmon, so if you can see dust on ythe vents(even a little) you need to vacume it out. simmlar to vacuming a pc, remove the cpu cover and vacume around it, then vacume roundthe vents. using canned air when trheres dust can temporarily fix it,but more often than not, it will move the dust onto apart that needs airflow, causing it to overheat.

Turn it off and leave it alone until you can take it to the repair shop on Monday.
