They will remain favorites to win every year that the Big Three are together but it takes an entire team to win it all. After they won previous Championships they were left largely intact but had to replace key reserves every time. The replacements are not always successfull ( Nazr, Nesterovich, etc..) but if they keep the same team together like owner Peter Holt claims he intends to do then I don't see them doing anything but cruising back to the Finals next year. The Spurs seem to mesh at the right times every year and with a couple of years together AND one ring already makes sense to see them pulling it together again for one more at least.

When people say Lakers and Celtics are better than the Spurs, are they saying that just like the Suns fans did. As Nash said "We are better on paper, but they are better in the playoffs (focused and determined). Celtics just lack the playoff experience to beat the Spurs. Spurs have been winning Championships with the same strong three for a while now (Duncan, Ginobli, Parker). Lakers are about the only team that could beat the Spurs, but I still think they will go 7 games with the Spurs winning. Also, maybe the Pistons have a chance too against the Spurs, but that's it. With all that being said, the Spurs have a great chance of repeating. Lakers will be there only speed bump. GO SPURS GO!!!

Nope. They've already proven 3 times before that they let down the next year or two. Truthfully they should probably have 6-9 championships, which they would if someone on the team had the heart of Michael Jordan. Maybe Tony Parker can be that person, he's only 25, but no one on that team has ever shown the desire to win every time that Jordan had. If not for the murder of James Jordan or the breakup of the team that came after #6 Jordan would have had at least 8 and possibly more championships. So have a nice year off again Spurs. Hopefully the Suns or the Mavs or Wizards or Bulls or someone win next year.

They have to be favored, the West is real tough, with Phoenix, Dallas. Portland will be much better next year with Oden, especially if they can manage to get Oden and Conley, along with Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge, they'll have a squad for years to come.
Golden State should be good, but I don't think they'll legitimately compete with the rest of the West. Utah will be back, so it's real tough to say they will repeat with an affirmation. But they have got to be the favorites. They know how to win it, which is more than any other team in the West can say.

Well, at the beginning of the Playoffs, I knew nobody was good enough to stop them, but I think in another few days, that whole team may just turn to dust except Tony Parker. Also, if you look at when theyve won Titles, its been on odd years: 99, 03, 05, 07. If Duncan is still alive in 2009, and theres anybody willing to watch the Spurs play (count me out), then they could win it in 2009. Not in 08 though.

No, I don't think you will see a repeat in the West.
Phoenix and Dallas are going to be more hungry
and Portland and Golden State will be pushing other
teams. I think the west will be a surprise, maybe
Denver or Goldenstate. Also SPURs have not won
back to back, as Tim put it, they like to take time off.

Probably, as long as everybody stays healthy. So many trade rumors are floating around that it's impossible to tell who the starters will be for a lot of teams, east and west. The only real question, as far as I can see, is what will Cuban do in Dallas?

Theres a good chance. Even though they have a pattern of taking every other year lately. If we can steer clear of any injuries that can interfere with performance, hey why not? Plus, Tony is starting to make 3 pointers!
