Hi,
I know how your feeling. Ill be 40 weeks tomorrow and I'm starting to think i will go over my due date (fingers crossed i don't). I was in hospital last night and then sent home when my pains stopped. The midwife told me the best natural way to bring on labour is to go for a big walk, if you live near a beach she said walking in soft sand is the best. Also drinking prune juice is great. But whatever you do DONT drink Castor oil because it can make the baby poo and you if it does its first poo inside you, it can poison itself (meconium). Good luck and when that little angel is ready he/she will just come out!!

I do truly understand your wish to have your baby soon. I am mom to 4 who were all born past their due dates (by 9 days, 11 days, 5 days, and 7 days). By the time my due date came and went, I was so ready to have the baby and of course, there were many suggestions by many people. Bottom line...none worked. I walked a lot, had sex a lot, ate spicy food (which I really don't care for, but ate anyway), drove down miles of bumpy back roads, and scrubbed floors on my hands and knees. I did get sore legs, a happy husband, serious heartburn, a really dirty car and really clean floors, but no baby. I think anyone who swears any of these things work was at the point of going into labor anyway and whether they did them or not, would still have gone into labor. Full-term pregnancy is considered 37-42 weeks which basically means that sometime in that 5 weeks time frame you will have your baby when both your body and your baby are ready. Most of the things that people suggest will not harm you or your baby, but I suggest you stay away from anything you drink such as castor oil. There are some possible complications that can occur with castor oil. Unless with your doctor or midwife's guidance, stay clear of the castor oil.

Generally speakme, sure. When your frame evidently is going into hard work it's most often over a interval of time and the contractions construct up in frequency and soreness. With an caused hard work it is zero-60 similar to that. Your frame has no time to get use to the contractions and soreness. I used to be caused with my first and it used to be terrible, despite an epidural. Had my moment evidently(no induction, no epidural) and it used to be ten occasions simpler/much less painful than my first. How past due are you? Unless you're pushing the forty two week mark then you'll be able to deny an induction. If you and little one are healthful then there's no intent you can not deliver your frame extra time to do matters on its possess.

At only 37 weeks? Why?? You could easily have a month to go before the baby's ready.
"When researchers in the late 1980s followed a group of healthy, white women with regular menstrual cycles, they discovered that pregnancy in first-time mothers averaged eight days longer than this, or forty-one weeks plus one day."

and
"Labor induction cannot be 'natural'. It is always a way to precede the signals given by the baby and by your own body." -- Michel Odent, MD

At 37 weeks, you shouldn't be trying anything. You should wait for the baby to come naturally. If your doctor feels there is a need to speed things up, he/she will discuss this with you. Let your baby be born when it's ready. I know you are miserable right now, but it will be over soon.

Naturally? You can wait. You're still a bit early. 40 weeks is average. Chill. Baby will be in as long as baby needs to be in. Forcing baby out early just because you're excited and anxious isn't really how you want to start out parenting is it? You don't always want to be pushing your kids to do things before they're ready, do you? Of course not. So get some reading done, do some artwork, take walks with your partner, play with your pets, shop, whatever...won't be much time for that after the baby comes.

Just relax! Your labour will start the moment it should. Really! Trust me, the baby will come when it is exactly the right time. Exactly!
In the meantime, just enjoy the peace and quiet and sleep! You aren't going to get much after the birth...at least for a while.

Get on a plane.
Invite 8 relatives over to stay for a week.
Start remodeling the kitchen.
Suddenly become engrossed in an addictive hobby.
Seriously, you will probably just have to wait...and most first time babies are a few days late.
