is there a websight that gives guidelines as to what is and is not a pyramid scheme??

The main clue that something is a pyramid scheme is that you are paying or being paid but getting or giving nothing of value in return. The main purpose of the pyramid is to bring new members in for a fee. The legal form of pyramid, multi-level marketing, has a main point of selling something.
