Today I have noticed that the flames coming from the burners on my stove are blue, and there is orange mixed in. They do everything they are supposed to do, from simmering to high heat, but I think this mix of colors is new, or I would have noticed it before.

Is it dangerous? Should I worry about it? Something has changed in the stove to produce this, so it's a bit alarming.

Normal to see blue. Blue indicates the hottest flame possible. Orange flame is cooler but still OK. try cleaning the orifices where the gas comes out. Use a small brass brush, steel wool are very fine sandpaper

Normal coloration for a natural gas flame is a deep blue body with a slightly yellow or orange tip, with an occasional yellow or orange streak popping up the side of the body of the flame. If the flames turn more orange or yellowish than just the tips, then the air/gas ratio is getting out of adjustment and you may need to have a service man come repair it. Don't try to clean the orifices of the burners if you don't know what you're doing. You can damage the openings and cause them to burn worse. Occasionally, natural gas picks up some small impurities and they get pushed thru the system into your home, that's usually when you notice poor coloration of the flames on the burners. Usually nothing to worry about.

Blue is OK, Orange/yellow means the airflow needs to be adjusted. Orange or yellow flame also means you are putting carbon in the air which is unproperly burned gas and produces a black gritty soot.

I don't know for sure but we have gas cooking and when you put on the burner it is kind of the same color. I think it is ok.

That's normal. Probably just turned up more than usually. I used to have the same thing happen occasionally.
